iRed Lite is a nice add-on to Front Row. It does not replace Front Row but adds new features to your Apple Remote. Hold down Menu on your AR and iRed Lite gets into control. iRed Lite provides several examples of controlling QuickTime Player, iTunes or the Finder, but a editor for more actions is built-in.
Since 0.9.7 iRed Lite supports multiple Apple Remotes, using the little secret that every Apple Remote has an identifier built-in. This can be used for direct access of layers without activating them before.
Even if you don’t own multiple Apple Remotes, you may put the codes onto a programmable RC, then change the ID of your Apple Remote, and teach more codes to your PRC. There are 255 supported IDs, so imagine the possibilities!
